Winton Flesser

After running family camping shops in the early 1980s, towards the close of the decade Winton opened the first installment of his K2 trajectory. Along with business partners with similar passions, Winton created K2 Base Camp, a specialist outdoor, rock-climbing and adventure gear store.  Soon after, Winton took over the reins of K2 Base Camp in a solo capacity and has since taken the enterprise from strength to strength. K2 Base Camp and K2 Odyssey Travel are an expression not only of Winton’s deep love for nature and the outdoors, but also his need for adventure.

Though never unfulfilled in his past 28 years in business, Winton stays motivated (in his words, keeps his brain balanced) by returning to nature on a regular basis.

Rob has been in the industry for 14 years and has travelled throughout Nepal ( Everest Region) Base Camp, Annapurna, India, South east Asia, 2 years in London in a climbing center, Climbed extensively in Western Europe.

Peter is a keen climber and has climbed extensively around Queensland.

Places travelled- South America- Brazil ,Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Central Asia , Climbed in New Zealand, Middle east- Dubai, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Turkey and has tackled the Kokoda Trail.

Ben has conquered France, Germany, UK, Skied in Canada, roamed Portugal, fished in the Dominican Republic and Bouldered his way through Queensland.

Hiked in the Rockies, Tetons (Wyoming), Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Moab UT. Look out for josh up in the skies as he is an avid flyer.

Paul Devine

K2 Team

Paul is another one of our awesome climbers who works here at K2. He has climbed extensively throughout South East Queensland. He placed 11th in the QLD State Bouldering Competition at Urban Climb 2011.

He also climbs at Frog so much his skin is turning green.

Nathan DJ Kimbar

Originally from Hobart, Nathan has hiked extensively in Tasmania, including the Overland Track, the South Coast Track, Mt Field, the South Peninsular, Wine Glass Bay, Mt Wellington, Frenchmen’s Cap and Houn Valley. 

Nathan has also travelled and worked overseas in such countries as: Austria, Andorra, Belgium, Canada, Cuba, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Macau, Monaco, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, Tonga, United States of America (including Alaska and Hawaii).   

Along with a love of the outdoors and travel, Nathan is a former beer brewer and is always keen for a chat about possible adventures over a cold one!

Is out latest redheaded staff member - but can climb better than all of us combined. He came 5th in the QLD Bouldering comp held at Urban Climb this year. He has climbed all over the world has has spent extended periods of time at Castle Hill and Hampi. Ecology degree holder. Climbing for 12 years. Mountaineering on Mt Aspiring, NZ and lots of hiking at Mt Cook. Alpine multi pitch in Fiordland.

Outdoor education qualified she combines K2 with child care. Definitely our kindest K2 staff member and by far out best female climber/ mad boulderer.

Grew up in NZ and has hiked extensively thoughout the South Island and has climber all over Europe.

She is an avid scuba diver having dived along the East Coast of Australia, Thailand and Tasmania.

Years experience: around 40yrs

Previous experience: Has trekked in Nepal, NZ, Thailand and Tasmania.

I've done extensive walking in South East QLD and Rockhampton, my favourite areas being Mt Barney NP and the Glasshouse NP.
