With up to 30 percent less head width than any other micro cam, C3 Camalots fit in more places, more securely. The C3’s broader middle lobe overlaps and interlocks with the opposing cams, maintaining the cam head’s narrow width and maximizing contact area. Three compression springs independently drive each cam for increased holding force and contact in irregular placements. Their unique thin-profile stems are laterally stiff for slotting in tight placements, but flexible over edges for a more evenly dispersed load. Easy to grab, even with gloves on, their cable loops provide ample room for clipping in short or with a draw.

Built with a hybrid blend of materials and advanced MIM process, Link Cams are the most sophisticated and modern camming devices in the world. Dmm Peanuts Offer great protection when making placements in pin scars and shallow cracks as their wedge shape helps them to be placed so that they will bite into the front of the placement. I have used Dmm peanuts on many occasions for these types of placment but have found them to not be quite as good in regular placments as the Mini Wallnuts.

Australian Made Brass Nut with stainless steel wire - the smallest on the market. RP's are the invention of Roland Pauligk who long ago (1970's) mastered the fine art of precision micro nut manufacture. Each brass nut is meticulously crafted by Roland and his wife Ann - first cast, drilled, then individually hand soldered and polished to a bright finish. Soldering allows for thicker wires to be used on smaller heads. The smallest size is only for direct aid.

RP's have a shallow taper resulting in a subtle trapezoidal shape that allows the maximum surface area contact - for the best holding power. They place well in both their wide and narrow configurations giving you substantially more than merely psychological protection, particularly on the thin, shallow cracks at Araps

CIRQUE

The DMM Cirque is a clean, thoughtfully put together general ice axe. The adze and pick are substantial, and will cope well with long sessions of front pointing, step chopping and daggering. The teeth layout is such that they will grip on ice and névé but will remove easily with good technique. Head grip clearance is very good and this axe carries well in the walking/braking position. The shaft is bent and has a decent diameter which makes swinging a delight. It is T (techincal) rated, which means it is strong enough for belaying. The sticky rubber hand grip is very useful but would benefit from being recessed. It comes with a heavy-duty slide-adjusted leash. But the DMM Cirque will not appeal to walkers looking for an ultra-light model.
